Where to stay

The Old Town — a UNESCO-listed trading port of lantern-lit streets and tailor shops — is compact and car-free, best for a night or two immersed in it. It packs with day-trippers between 9am and 5pm; early morning and after 6pm are the quiet, magic hours. An Bàng beach is a flat 15–25 minute bike ride east through paddy fields, a calmer village base with easy town access.
