Where to stay

Trần Phú Beach is the main strip — hostels, seafood, dive shops and bars all within a walk, everything a first-timer needs in one line along the shore. It is busy and touristy, especially in peak season. Hòn Chồng, just north past the rocky headland, is smaller and quieter, more local and cheaper — better for a return visit than a first one.
