About this place
Vietnam's Temple of Literature, founded in 1070 and home to the country's first national academy from 1076. Eighty-two stone stelae, each carried on a turtle and listing the doctoral graduates of an examination between 1442 and 1780, are held in UNESCO's Memory of the World register. The walk through its five courtyards takes about an hour.
