After the ticket gates close, the surrounding area offers no bars, clubs, or commercial evening entertainment. Travelers staying near the falls spend their evenings at local homestays in villages like Khuổi Ky or Đàm Thủy. These guesthouses serve family-style Tày dinners featuring local vegetables, river fish, and pork dishes. Night activities in the countryside are limited to conversation, stargazing, and resting before early morning tours. Flashlights are necessary for walking outside after sunset because rural paths lack streetlights.

Cao Bằng City offers the province's main evening activities, centered around Kim Đồng Walking Street and the Bằng Giang River embankment. The walking street operates on Friday and Saturday evenings from approximately 19:00 to 23:00. Stalls sell local snacks, regional teas, and handmade souvenirs alongside open spaces where locals gather for music and shuttlecock kicking. On weekday evenings, the riverside cafes along Phố Cũ and Kim Đồng remain open until roughly 22:00. You can walk along the river promenade, visit local tea houses, or browse small grocery shops near the central market for dried goods.

Late-night dining in Cao Bằng focuses on warm street food, with most casual eateries operating between 17:00 and 22:00.
