Lý Sơn winds down early, with most evening activity centered around the main pier (Cầu Cảng) on the large island (Cù Lao Ré). By 10:00 PM, nearly all food stalls and cafes close, leaving the outer ring roads completely quiet. Travelers looking for food, drinks, or walks should stay within the central port district between 6:00 PM and 9:30 PM.

The Lý Sơn Night Market operates directly along the concrete embankment near the main passenger terminal. Open-air stalls display fresh catches on ice, including spanner crabs (cua huỳnh đế), turban snails (ốc cừ), and grilled squid. When in season during early spring, stalls also serve fresh garlic stem salad (gỏi tỏi). Meals at the night market start from $3 (approximate) for noodle dishes and from $12 (approximate) per kilogram for live shellfish.

A row of simple street-side cafes lines the harbor road, offering Vietnamese drip coffee, fruit shakes, and cold drinks with sea breezes. Most harbor cafes close their doors between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Walking along the concrete pier breakwater offers clear views of fishing boat lights across the water. Remote sites such as Hang Câu and Thới Lới Mountain have no evening lighting and are unsafe for nighttime walking.

Electric tourist shuttles (xe điện) run around the town area until roughly 9:00 PM, while scooter rentals remain standard for independent transport. Outer coastal roads lack streetlights and have occasional loose gravel, so drive slowly after sunset. Carry physical cash in Vietnamese đồng, as vendors at the night market and roadside cafes rarely accept international payment cards.
