Day by day

Day 1
Trek to Lao Chải and Tả Van villages
Your local H'Mông guide meets you in Sa Pa town. Begin your trek downhill to Mường Hoa Valley. The path can be muddy and slippery, especially after rain. You will walk about 12-14 km today. Pass through terraced rice fields. Visit Lao Chải, a Black H'Mông village. Continue to Tả Van village. This is home to the Giáy people. Have dinner and stay overnight at a local homestay in Tả Van. Expect thin mattresses and basic facilities.
Day 2
Explore Giàng Tả Chải and return to Sa Pa
After breakfast, your guide leads you further into the valley. Today's trek is about 8-10 km. The trails are steep in places, offering views of the valley. You will cross a small river. Visit Giàng Tả Chải village, home to the Red Dao people. Learn about their traditional crafts. Have lunch at a local house. A private car picks you up in Giàng Tả Chải. Return to Sa Pa town in the afternoon.
