1. Day 1

2. Day 2

   Hanoi – Sapa

   Into the mountains by expressway (about 5 hours). The afternoon is free to breathe the cool air — a stroll to Cat Cat village is a lovely first taste (payable locally).

3. Day 3

   Sapa (at Leisure)

   Sapa your way: trek the Muong Hoa Valley to Lao Chai and Ta Van, or ride the cable car toward Fansipan, the "Roof of Indochina" (tickets payable locally).

4. Day 4

   Sapa – Ninh Binh

   An early, spectacular descent from the mountains to the karst valleys (about 6.5 hours), arriving early afternoon. The rest of the day is free — a Trang An sampan ride or the Mua Cave viewpoint (payable locally).

5. Day 5

   Ninh Binh – Halong Bay · Ambassador Overnight Cruise
