Thái Nguyên

Tea hills

最佳月份: 1月 · 2月 · 10月 · 11月

Rolling tea plantations and lakes in the green heart of the northeast.

關於Thái Nguyên

Thái Nguyên is tea country — the hills around Tân Cương are combed into neat green rows, and a small cup of its famous leaf is the region's daily ritual. Since the 2025 merger the province also holds Ba Bể, Việt Nam's largest natural mountain lake, ringed by karst peaks and old forest.

Most travellers point straight for the lake — a slow boat under limestone cliffs, a night in a Tày stilt house — then discover the tea hills on the way back: garden walks, tastings at the source, and the softest green light in the north.

Thái Nguyên精選體驗

自然

Ba Bể lake

Việt Nam's largest natural mountain lake, deep green under limestone cliffs — slow boats, kayaks and the tiny Fairy Pond (Ao Tiên) hidden in the forest above.

自然

Động Puông cave

The Năng river runs straight through this vast cave — boats drift beneath a ceiling of stalactites and colonies of bats.

探險

Đầu Đẳng waterfall

Where the Năng river breaks over a ~1km jumble of boulders at the park's edge — reached by boat and a short forest walk.

文化

Pác Ngòi stilt-house village

A Tày village of palm-roofed stilt houses on the lakeshore — homestays, rice fields and lake fish grilled over the fire.

傳統與手作

Tân Cương tea hills

The most famous tea terroir in Việt Nam — walk the combed rows, watch the roasting pans and taste the leaf where it grows.

吃什麼

Thái Nguyên tea

The region's pride — a fresh, fragrant leaf tea often served in a quiet café overlooking the plantations.

Ba Bể lake fish

The day's catch grilled over charcoal or turned into tôm chua, the local sour shrimp — eaten in the stilt houses of Pác Ngòi.

Bờ Đậu bánh chưng

A whole village given over to the square sticky-rice cake — wrapped, boiled and sold along the road north all year round.

貼士與問答

關於Thái Nguyên最常見的實用問題與簡短解答。

How far is Ba Bể from Hà Nội?

~230km, about 4.5–5h by road; the last stretch winds over passes down to the lake. Most visitors sleep at least one night by the water.

Is one day at Ba Bể enough?

Not really — the boat circuit, Động Puông and Đầu Đẳng deserve a full day, and dawn mist on the lake is the best moment. Stay a night in Pác Ngòi.

Can I visit the tea gardens?

Yes — Tân Cương's gardens are ~10km from Thái Nguyên city and open to visitors for walks, roasting demonstrations and tastings.

What's the best season?

September to November is cool, dry and clear; spring brings fresh tea flushes. Summer rain feeds the waterfall but can cloud the lake.

行程規劃

如何抵達

Thái Nguyên city sits ~80km north of Hà Nội on an expressway (~1.5h); Ba Bể is a separate ~230km run from the capital, via the Chợ Rã gateway town.

當地交通

A car works best for the tea hills; at Ba Bể you switch to boats on the lake and local guides for forest trails.
